The founding members of the Asia Convention Alliance (ACA) gathered recently for the second time, at IMEX America 2022, to discuss future programmes. ACA’s founding members are Thailand Convention Bureau (TCEB), Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA), Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), Seoul Tourism Organisation (STO), and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). Bilateral MOUs were signed between MyCEB and STO as well as STO and TAITRA.

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) on Monday (Oct. 24) said that it will discontinue the quarantine requirement for contact with COVID cases. Taiwan on Thursday (Oct. 13) opened its borders to international travelers and ended its strict quarantine two and a half years since it imposed a ban on arrivals from all countries due to the pandemic. The country issued a Level 3 travel warning for all countries and regions on March 21, 2020. Kaohsiung was a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, with the Taiwan Design Expo 2022 drawing over 470,000 attendees. Nearby, the public trial of the Kaohsiung Light Rail also drew over 40,000 commuters in a single day on Saturday (Oct. 8).
